On May 5, 1993, three 8-year-old boys, Stevie Branch, Christopher Byers and Michael Moore, went missing in the early evening hours in West Memphis, Arkansas. Their bodies were found the next day submerged in a ditch in Robin Hood Hills. A month later, 3 suspects, Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelley, were arrested and charged with their murders. All three were convicted in 1994. Baldwin and Misskelley received life sentences, while Echols was sentenced to death.
The 3 men convicted became known as "The West Memphis Three". On August 19,2011, the convicted entered into an Alford Plea and were released from prison. They have maintained their innocence and continue their fight for exoneration and to bring the real killer to justice.
